BETTA TYPES AND CULTUVATION

Betta, game fish, or Siamese fighting fish are freshwater fish whose native habitat is in several countries in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Singapore and Vietnam. This fish has a unique shape and character and tends to be aggressive in defending its territory.

Betta is know by Indonesian people since the 1960s. At that time, the hickey was only known and liked as a rice field fish by children. At that time, the types of hickeys that were still simple were not as diverse as they are today. Betta then began to be introduced in the Indonesian market around 1970 by importers.

Types of betta fish are

1. Halfmoon Ornamental Betta

A halfmoon betta fish is a type of betta fish that has wide, crescent-shaped fins. Another name for this ornamental fish is the Big Ear Hickey. Halfmoon Betta fish have a variety of colors, from deep blue, red, purple to the rarest, yellow.

2.Fancy Ornamental Betta Fish
As the name suggests, fancy betta fish have beautiful and unique color scales. The color display looks 3D so it looks like a painting swimming in water.
3.Serit Betta Fish  This type of ornamental betta has torn fins that look like a combination of thorns. Another uniqueness of this fish is its very striking color, suitable for keeping in a home aquarium. The price of serit betta fish, or crown tail is expensive because of its rare species on the market.
Types of fighting betta fish 
1. Plaque Complaints Betta Fish  The plaque betta fish is one type of fighting betta fish. Even so, it looks no less beautiful than ornamental betta fish. The fins are straight, stocky and firm and the color is not as pale as most other fighting betta fish. Because of his instincts as a fighting fish, the hickey plaque is very frightening.
2.Double Tail Betta Fish 
The appearance of a double tail betta fish is very beautiful, from its wide and thick fins to the attractive color gradations of the scales.
3.HMPK Complaints Betta Fish  This pale betta fish is the result of crossing a halfmoon betta fish and a plaque, so it is abbreviated as HMPK. Although the scales tend to appear pale, the color of the tiny fish's fins is often praised for its contrast with its body. This type of ornamental betta is also classified as a fighting fish.
4.Field betta fish  Rice field betta fish is one type of wild fish that can be kept at home. These fish are out of reach of humans, so they can be very expensive. According to fish lovers, the bigger the body of the field betta fish, the more expensive it is!
5.Giant Betta Fish  The next type of ornamental betta fish is the giant hickey. This type of fish is very aggressive, so you can use it as a fighting fish. As the name suggests, the body size of this fish is bigger than other types of betta fish.
6.Sarawak Betta Fish  Apart from being unique, the sarawak betta fish is actually agile, which is why many hickey enthusiasts keep it to be pitted. The color of the sarawak betta fish is quite simple with the stripes you can see on the tail.
7.Slayer betta fish  The slayer betta is a cross between a halfmoon and a serit. This type is widely sold in many fish markets and is one of the favorites of many people. Its distinctive features are its fins which are wider and larger than the rest of its body. Slayer betta fish are gifted with bright colors such as orange, yellow, red, green, and many more.
How to Cultivate a Betta Fish in the Spawning Stage   1. Fill the Spawning Place with clean water 10-15 cm. For the record, use clear river water or groundwater.  2. Add water plants. Add water plants to the container.  3. Enter the male betta fish.  4. Enter the Betta Fish.  5. Raise the female parent.
