Utilization of Ecosystems and Environmental Balance in Hydroponic form

        Environmental balance is the ability of the environment to overcome disturbances or pressures arising from both nature and human activities as well as the ability of the environment to maintain the stability of life in it. Is an Ecosystem is an ecological system formed by an inseparable reciprocal relationship between living things and their environment ecosystem components can be divided into two parts;

1. Biotic Components

This component is a member of the ecosystem in the form of living things

2. Abiotic components

Then, abiotics are components of non-living things.

        Hydroponics is an agricultural system that is carried out using water growing media. Usually this is done in the yard of the house. But some are on a large scale.

        Benefits of Hydroponics For environmental balance;

1. Hydroponics does not depend on the place and season (land area and altitude) because it can be managed by humans in particular and environmental conditions are controlled

2. Cultivation techniques or hydroponic cultivation can be carried out by people who do not own land. Even hydroponic plants can be applied by residents of narrow apartments.

3. Can produce better quality.

4. Humans can save on the use of fertilizers because the provision is adjusted according to the needs of the plants.

5. Free from pests and diseases that come from the ground.

6. Hydroponic planting can create new and simple biotechnology products that can be used in everyday life.

7. Can be implemented by men and women, both young and old.

8. Relatively unnecessary costs, but only require effort and time.

9. Human nature and livestock work together in a hydroponic crop system so that it will encourage reciprocal and mutually beneficial cooperation.

10. The labor needed can be fulfilled from the village and farmer families without having to bring in from abroad

11. Hydroponic vegetables are safer because they are free from pests so they are free from pesticides

        Abiotic components are also included using the hydroponic method, 

many have used this, for example, lettuce, tomatoes and peppers.

The use of abiotic components in hydroponic systems, namely :

• water, which becomes a growing medium for plants and is also used to dissolve nutrients needed by plants.

• Air, as a source of oxygen, plants also need enough carbon dioxide to be able to photosynthesize completely.

• The pH level is a part of the hydrogen present in the air. pH Nutrition is one of the most needed points in hydroponic cultivation.

• Air temperature has a major function in the process of plant growth.
