Eliminate toothache with castor sap
Since thousands of years ago, people have practiced cleaning their teeth in the traditional way, such as chewing the stems, roots, or shoots of plants. For example, they chew siwak stalks to prevent cavities.
In addition, boiled water and plant extracts are also used to prevent and treat toothaches, mouth sores, chapped lips, bleeding gums, and cavities.
One example of plants that can be used is distance. The sap can be used to treat toothache pain.
Jatropha curcas has the Latin name for Jatropha curcas. In Greek, jatros means "doctor" and trophe means "food" or "nutrition". Jatropha curcas can be interpreted as 'medicinal plant'.
The benefits of jatropha for toothache have been proven for a long time. This plant is believed to have analgesic effects or anti-pain substances so that it can be used as a toothache medicine.
According to the Indonesian Journal of Dentistry 2006, the analgesic benefits of castor sap can resemble the drug paracetamol. That is, the effectiveness is only valid for 3-6 hours, then within 24 hours after that the effect decreases.
The benefits of castor sap for toothache are only effective in dealing with acute pain. Meanwhile, the use of toothache pain that has occurred months before will not be effective.
•Dripping Sap Directly
The usual method is to put 1 to 2 drops of sap on the affected tooth cavity, then cover it with cotton. Usually after this, the pain will not recur, although over time the teeth will become damaged and brittle.
However, this method is not recommended because direct droplets of the sap make the dosage inaccurate. Therefore, it is better not to drop the sap directly on the teeth.
•Consume in Extraction Form
Because dripping directly is more risky, the use of castor sap in the form of an extract will be better than fresh castor sap. However, this is still constrained by the difficulty of plant extracts found on the market.
Distance sap is not only useful for treating toothache pain, but can also be applied to the tongue which is inflamed due to sores or canker sores. Apart from the benefits of jatropha sap, boiled jatropha roots are also useful as a mouthwash to treat bleeding gums and toothaches.
Now you know the benefits of castor sap for treating toothache pain. But still, the use of factory-made tooth pain relievers is more recommended than fresh castor sap. This is because the factory drug has gone through a series of tests and trials that have met the standards so that it has the right dose.
